Jurassic Park-like gator seen on Florida golf course is real

The manager of a US golf course made famous for its "Jurassic Park-like" alligator has provided further proof the giant reptile is real.

Amateur golfer Charles Helms couldn’t believe his eyes this week when he spotted the enormous gator casually strolling past a sand trap on the Buffalo Creek Golf Course in Florida.

Footage of the beast quickly spread across the globe making international headlines.

But not everyone was convinced the footage was genuine, with some claiming it was faked by two people wearing a costume.

To dispel rumours, the golf course's manager Ken Powell posted video of his own proving there was nothing fake about the giant local resident.

Mr Powell's footage shows the gator up close wandering across the golf course before collapsing for a snooze.

The golf course manager said the resident monster can usually be seen roaming around holes 3, 8 and 14.
