'Instant karma' driver gets arrested, charged

The reckless driver who became a viral sensation for crashing his ute moments after giving another driver the finger has faced another dose of karma – being arrested and charged.

Jeffrey White was filmed on a mobile phone tailgating Florida woman Tracy Lynn Sloan before overtaking her, flipping the bird in the process.

He then fishtailed on the road and crashed onto the verge, to the merriment of Ms Sloan.

He has now been arrested and charged with reckless driving, leaving the scene and not wearing a seatbelt.

"Honestly, looking back, I feel kind of bad for laughing. But at the same time, it's kind of funny," Ms Sloan told WTSP.

"Maybe this is his opportunity for growth. Maybe he can use this as a learning tool and not go off the rails next time."

The video quickly went viral when it was posted last week.
