High heel murderer found guilty

A US woman who made headlines for stabbing her boyfriend to death with a 5 ½-inch stiletto heel has been found guilty of murder.

It took the jury only two hours yesterday to find Ana Trujillo, of Houston, guilty of the brutal crime.

Trujillo, 45, who now faces life in prison, showed little emotion when the jury's verdict was read.

Prosecutors said Trujillo slashed 59-year-old Alf Stefan Anderson with the shoe's heel at least 25 times across the face and head before leaving him to bleed to death on his condo floor in June.

The $1500 navy blue heel, which had been a gift from Anderson, was presented to the jury blood-stained and covered in hair.

Trujillo argued that she had acted in self-defence when Anderson, a University of Houston professor, attacked her after a night of drinking.

But prosecutors alleged that she was the aggressor and had pinned an intoxicated Anderson to the floor as she repeatedly struck him.

Sentencing will begin on Wednesday.
