Three missing after head-on freight trains collision

A head-on collision between two freight trains has left three crew members missing and one injured after he managed to leap clear moments before impact.
Images from the scene in Panhandle, north Texas, show carriages crumbled in a pile with thick plumes of black smoke pouring from the centre of the destruction.
The Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway trains were on the same track when they collided at 8.40am Tuesday (local time).
The intense fire means emergency crews have been unable to reach the areas the three crew members, conductors and engineers, were working.
“I don’t know how anyone survived,” farmer Billy Brown told local media after he saw the fireball.
“It’s terrible. I’ve seen a number of train wrecks but I’ve never seen one like this.”
Some residents from the nearby town of Panhandle have been evacuated due to the smoke.
