A six-year-old US girl undergoing chemotherapy has been escorted to her final session in a firetruck.

Finley Brown of California met firefighters from the Moraga Orinda Fire District at a local festival earlier in the year and the brave six-year-old made an impression on the crew as well as internet users who have shared her story more than 30,000 times, ABC News reports.

"Finley...approached us with a lot of confidence and had no problem showing us her scars and explaining to us why she had no hair at the time," Moraga firefighter Lucas said.

The emergency workers wanted to do something to help Finley and on Monday a number of the crew picked her up from her home in a firetruck and drove her to the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital in Oakland.

Finely waved to her fans who held up signs of support as she neared the hospital.

"It made me feel really good, the people in the department really came forward and stepped up," Mr Lambert said.

The firefighter added that his colleagues are also planning a fundraiser for the six-year-old and hope to raise enough money to send her on a trip to Disney World.

Finley had emergency surgery last year after doctors found a tumour in her kidney.

However, she has remained in good spirits despite the ordeal.

"She hasn't had any negativity despite everything that she's going through," Mr Lambert said.

The Brown family could not be reached to comment.
