Fatal shooting at US Jewish sites

A man has been arrested after three people were shot dead at two Jewish sites in the US overnight.

Police said at least one person was killed at Kansas City, Missouri’s Overland Park Jewish Community Centre and another at Village Shalom, an assisted living centre a few blocks away.

A 15-year-old boy was also taken to hospital with critical injuries, KMBC reports.

It is unclear if the third victim died at the scene of the shooting or in hospital.

A man was later taken in to custody at the nearby Valley Park Elementary School, KCTV reports.

The suspect reportedly yelled "Heil Hitler" as he was led away by police in handcuffs.

Police said a number of shots were fired at the community centre but have not confirmed if there are any more victims.

An on-duty officer outside B'nai Jehudah congregation said police have been deployed to other Jewish sites as a precaution.
