Boston Globe publishes fake front page featuring 'President Donald Trump'

A US newspaper has printed a fake front page showing what news might be like if Donald Trump is elected president.

The editorial compilation was printed on the Boston Globe's Sunday Ideas section and features a splash image of Trump with the headline "Deportations to Begin."

An extract from the article reads: "The president made the announcement in a nationally televised address last night from the Old Post Office building in Washington, D.C., now a Trump International Hotel. (He) reiterated his promise to eject some 11.3 million illegal workers on a two year timetable — 'so fast that your head will spin'".

The front page also features a collection of secondary stories from a hypothetical dystopian future with Trump as its leader.

One article states “US soldiers refuse orders to kill ISIS families”, describing a "Crisis of good order and discipline…after days of widespread unrest in the ranks over White House orders to kill relatives of ISIS militants."

Other articles include a feature about the Yellowstone National Park, which sits upon one of the world's largest super volcanos, being renamed after the president.

Another article announces Trump on the Nobel Prize shortlist.

“His vision of America promises to be as appalling in real life as it is in black and white on the page,” the article reads.

The editorial staff at the Boston Globe said the cover was to show the idea of a Trump presidency was as unappealing in reality as it is in black and white.

"The satirical front page of this section attempts… to envision what America looks like with Trump in the White House."
