Dogs take ute for a joyride

Two dogs have taken their owner's ute for a joyride down a suburban US street and into a river.

The pickup truck rolled for three blocks after the dogs apparently knocked the handbrake, sending it down a hill and into the Arkansas River in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The truck is badly damaged by the two dogs were unharmed.

"It was an expensive joyride," the dogs' owner Scott told FOX23.

"I got around to the front of the house where the truck was, and it's like not there.

"And I was like 'did I get towed?' and I just thought no it didn't."

Two boys on skateboards saw the ute start to roll down the hill, but they were unable to catch up to it.

The ute missed cars and joggers during the brief journey.
