Dog poop throwing mayor resigns
A US mayor has been forced to resign after being caught on camera throwing dog poo onto his neighbour's front yard.
San Marino, California Mayor Dennis Kneier was caught throwing faeces on his neighbour, Philip Lao's lawn, in retaliation over for Mr Lao's opposition to a proposed neighbourhood dog park.
After he was caught, Mr Kneier defended his actions calling it a "moment of stupidity".
"I'm the kind of guy that's always picking up trash and I reached down and picked it up and I am walking down the street...and in a moment of stupidity, I guess I was tired of carrying it, I disposed of it on his walkway. It was a mistake," he said.
Mr Lao has said that while video of the dirty act has been turned over to police, he will not be pressing charges.
Mr Kneier also apparently wrote Mr Lao a personal apology.
