Snake sinks its fang into DJ who stepped on it while using phone

A US DJ who was bitten by a snake after he stepped on it while engrossed in his phone says he harbours no ill will towards the reptile.

Tim Malone was entering Skateland in the Oklahoma city of Chickasha on Wednesday when the venue's CCTV captured him inadvertently stomp on the 1.2m bull snake while he was using his phone, WFSB reports.

The footage shows the disc jockey jump frantically as he realises what he has done.

"Adrenaline took over," Mr Malone said.

"And then I realised it was a snake and I started kicking. [I said] 'get it off.'"

The snake is non-venomous and Mr Malone is expected to make a full recovery.

He said he doesn't blame the reptile for sinking its fangs into him.

"[It was] trying to get somewhere dry, maybe, I don't know," he said.

"It had been raining all day."
