Bill Gates accepts Zuckerberg's Ice Bucket Challenge

The world's richest man, Bill Gates, has accepted the ice Bucket Challenge issued by Facebook's billionaire founder Mark Zuckerberg.

However, Gates' improved on the viral stunt, using his tech acumen to take the charitable act to a new level.

The 58-year-old Microsoft founder posted a professionally edited video of his exploits online, aiming to raise money for the ALS Association, a charity dedicated to fighting Lou Gehrig's disease.

The stunt requires a person to pour a bucket of ice water on their head, allowing them to challenge three others to perform the bone-chilling feat.

But rather than just pour the bucket of water on his head Gates constructed a device that allowed him to pull on a rope to have the water poured on his head.

Before he did the world's richest geek challenged fellow billionaires Elon Musk, TV host Ryan Seacrest and Chris Anderson of TED.

The Ice Bucket Challenge has been performed by a number of celebrities and high-profile entrepreneurs and reportedly raised more than $1 million in less than a month.
