Bikini-clad grandma arrested for DUI with grandson in car

Police in Florida arrested a bikini-wearing grandmother who crashed her BMW into another luxury car and then allegedly failed every sobriety test she performed.

Patricia Ebel, 49, was returning from a day at the pool with her 10-year-old grandson when she slammed her black BMW into another car that was waiting an intersection.

A local WINK News crew was at the scene when police arrived to assess the grandmother's level of intoxication by making her stand on one leg after she refused a breathalyser.

Ms Ebel said she struggled to stand on one leg on a good day but officers did not believe her.

The arrest report said the granny smelled of alcohol.

Ms Ebel's grandson hugged her after the crash when she hit the Mustang that was sitting at a red light.

The front of the BMW was completely smashed in while the driver of the other vehicle was taken to hospital but was not suffering serious injuries.

The grandmother was released on bail and faces DUI charges including driving with a blood-alcohol level above 0.15 while a minor was in the vehicle.
