New White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci has announced he will contact the FBI to investigate President Donald Trump's Chief Of Staff Reince Priebus for leaking.

It comes after Politico reported details from Mr Scaramucci’s financial disclosure form, revealing he had earned US$4.9 million from his ownership stake in investment firm SkyBridge Capital in addition to a salary in excess of US$5 million.

The article also revealed the new communications director had assets of US$85 million.

However, Mr Scaramucci has denied the pair aren’t on good terms, saying he and Mr Trump's chief of staff were "a little bit like brothers".

“We rough each other up a little, which is totally normal for brothers,” he said.

“There’s a lot of people here who have brothers, so you get that.”

Mr Priebus told media he supported the hiring of Mr Scaramucci "100 percent" and said they were "good friends".

Mr Scaramucci's appointment to White House Communications Director prompted the resignation of press secretary Sean Spicer.
