Animal activist pair facing 10 years in prison after freeing 6,000 minks

Two animal activists in the US have been charged with domestic terrorism after they freed 6,000 minks.

Nicole Kissane, 28, and Joseph Buddenberg, 31, were arrested by the FBI late last week, reported The Independent.

The Californian pair are alleged to have snuck into mink farms across Idaho, Iowa, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin and released the animals.

Police allege the pair also slashed tyres, trespassed and vandalised private property.

If convicted, the pair face up to a decade behind bars.
