Comedian Andy Dick in police hands for stealing necklace

US comedian Andy Dick was arrested Friday night for allegedly stealing a man's necklace in Hollywood and riding off on his bicycle.

Dick allegedly rode up to the man last week and asked to have a look at the necklace said to be valued at around $1160, TMZ reports.

The man recognised the comic and said "sure".

He handed it over to Dick who then took off on his bicycle.

Police spotted the 48-year-old Dick outside his Hollywood apartment on Friday night and arrested him.

He was charged with grand theft and his bail set at $29,000.

The troubled Dick has been caught by the long arm of the law numerous times already, but never for theft.

His several previous charges dating back over the past 15 years include drug possession, sexual battery and harassment and driving under the influence.

Dick starred in the 1990s sitcom News Radio and filled minor roles in Old School and Dude, Where's My Car.
