Alligator trashes US garage during removal attempt

This is a good reason not to leave your garage door open all day.

A 3m-long alligator has trashed a Texas garage as authorities tried to usher it out late on Thursday night in anxiety-induced footage shot by local police.

The homeowner discovered the alligator had crept into his garage on Thursday evening in the town of Fulshear on the outskirts of Houston.

But the creature wouldn't leave as quietly as it had arrived, thrashing around violently when it is snagged by a professional.

Its violent movements knock over a series of shelves in the garage, sending debris flying.

"As you can see, she was a little upset at first, but she did calm down and was not injured," a Fulshear Police statement read.

The gator has now been moved to a nearby alligator farm.
