Visitors to Los Angeles in the US will soon have a new attraction to tick off their list - a giant glass-bottomed slide hanging hundreds of metres off the ground.

The slide is going to be built around the edge of the US Bank Tower as part of Skyspace LA, a multi-level tourist attraction inside the building.

The slide will start on the 70th floor, wrapping around the outside of the skyscraper, 300 meters above the ground, Mashable reports.

It will be 1.25 inches thick and the focus of the Skyspace LA experience.

The attraction will also include an open-air observation deck, providing a 360 degree view of Los Angeles.

The slide and observation deck is set to open to the public on June 25. Entry is expected to cost $25 per person.
