$11m yacht capsizes en route to new owner
Coast Guard crews in the US are trying to salvage a 27m boat worth up to $11 million after it capsized while being delivered to its new owner.
Six people were rescued from the yacht yesterday, after it capsized at the Cap Sante Marina in Anacortes, Washington.
One passenger was taken to hospital with unknown injuries after being trapped beneath the boat.
The yacht was reportedly being lowered into the water, en route to its new owner, when it tipped.
"The boat tilted to one side, and though not unusual, the amount of the tilt was a little abnormal, so we paused to collect ourselves and assure that everything was going to be right," New World Yacht Builders' Wes Fridell told Kiro TV.
"As we continued to lower it down, it pitched and that's when it went over."
The Coast Guard anticipated the boat would soon be retrieved from the water.
The boat's builder must cover the salvage costs.
It is not known whether the new owner will be entitled to a refund.
