US Election: Elderly couple married for 37 years divided over election

An elderly couple in the United States have revealed they’re split over who to vote for, vowing to support opposing candidates.

Jackie and Bill Krachala, who have been married for 37 years, spoke to CNN while queuing up to vote in Washington County, Pennsylvania.

Ms Krachala revealed she’d be voting for Republican candidate Donald Trump, while Mr Krachala said he’d vote for Democrat Hillary Clinton.

"He's the best there is right now. We need somebody strong," said Ms Krachala, explaining why she’s voting for the Republican candidate.

But her husband didn’t agree, saying Ms Clinton was “the best of the two”.

Ms Krachala said they do still love each other, despite their differences.
