Multiple US TV networks cut away from Trump press conference

Multiple major US TV networks have cut away from broadcasting Donald Trump's live press conference from the White House.

As the President declared he "easily wins" the US election, accusing ballots cast against him as being "illegal" in an address from the White House, a number of national TV networks stopped taking the remarks.

There is no evidence to substantiate any claims of corruption or fraud being carried out during the election process.

MSBNC, NBC, CBC and ABC News all cut away from Mr Trump's speech shortly after he started speaking, but CNN and Fox News carried his full remarks.

CNN Anchor Anderson Cooper said Mr Trump was "like an obese turtle on his back, flailing in the hot sun".

Fox News was less colourful in its condemnation, but host Bret Baier noted "we have not seen hard evidence" of any election fraud.

Trump continues outlandish claims

Mr Trump used the press conference to insist he "easily wins" the US election as he accused ballots cast against him as being "illegal".

There is no evidence to substantiate any claims of corruption or fraud being carried out during the election process.

"If you count the legal votes, I easily win," Mr Trump said.

"If you count the illegal votes, they can try to steal the election from us."

Mr Trump said he was looking into late votes "very closely".

"I already decisively won critical states including Florida, Iowa, Indiana, Ohio," he said.

"It is despite interference from a big-money, big tech."
