US college student becomes basketball hero with stunning last minute three-pointer

A US college student has become a sporting hero, following a last minute three-pointer which won the game for his college team.

Robert Lewis, from Franklin Road Academy in Tennessee, enjoyed the heroic moment with just seconds left in the senior game.

He missed his first attempt - but sunk a three-pointer with only five seconds left on the clock.

The crowd inside the gymnasium cheered and the cheerleaders on both sides celebrated with the teenager, who has Down syndrome.

He no doubt enjoyed the victorious moment of sibling rivalry, as the 19-year-old’s brother was playing on the losing side, the University School of Nashville.

The video has gone viral after it was uploaded, collecting more than one million views since it was shared on Saturday.
