Underwater jaguar displays uncanny aquatic abilities

Extraordinary vision of a zoo-kept jaguar swimming underwater with careless ease has gone viral.

First posted by YouTube user Vince Pinto, the video was reshared as a gif on popular viral image website Imgur, racking up more than 750,000 views.

“I had no idea that a Jaguar could remain underwater for so long,” Mr Pinto said.

The video captures the normally land-bound big cat eating and frolicking underwater for more than 30 seconds.

With dense rainforest listed as one of the jaguar’s preferred habitats, it nevertheless has been reputed to enjoy swimming.

For many internet users, the video has come as something of a revelation.
