UK teen pleads guilty to terror offences after arrest made during alleged Anzac Day plot investigation

A 16-year-old girl has pleaded guilty in a UK court to terror offences after she was arrested during a probe into an alleged Anzac Day plot in Melbourne.

The teenager, arrested alongside a 14-year-old Lancashire boy in April, pleaded guilty to two offences in the Manchester Magistrates Court.

She pleaded guilty to possessing documents containing information likely to be of use to a person preparing or committing an act of terrorism, namely a recipe for explosives and The Anarchy Cookbook.

Police were led to the girl after investigating a teenage boy in the north of England who has pleaded guilty in the Old Bailey court in London to inciting a terror attack aimed at killing police officers at the Anzac Day parade in Melbourne.

The girl knew the boy, but there is no suggestion she was involved in the alleged Australian terror plot.

Yesterday, a Melbourne teen accused of the alleged terror plot walked free on bail after charges against him were dropped.

Harun Causevic, 18, was detained for four months over the alleged plot and has since been cleared, however he remains charged with weapons offences which he pleaded guilty to.

A knuckleduster with a blade was found in his car, and two black flick knives were located in his bedroom during a raid on his home in April.

This offence carries a maximum penalty of two years in jail.

Yesterday, his lawyer Rob Stary said he deserved to be recompense for his time behind bars.
