A hapless thief has humiliated himself while trying to break into a university building in the UK, when he got stuck upside down climbing through a window, leaving his backside exposed.

Unfortunately for the would-be-burglar the incident, which happened last Friday, was captured on video.

Nottingham Trent students Tom Burdett and Dan De-Niet, 19 and 20, are in stitches as they happen upon the feckless miscreant, who is calling miserably for help.

"This is the f---ing funniest thing I've seen in so long," says one of the lads, initially assuming they are dealing with a drunken student.

"Is there any way I can get into the building to help you out?"

The answer was no - eventually, it took a ladder and the fire department to free the fool, who hopefully has abandoned his tilt at a life of crime.
