Mafia-type meeting captured on hidden camera

Italian and Swiss police have used hidden cameras to capture incredible footage of Mafia-like criminals discussing the pseudo-history of their organisation, honour, drug dealing and extortion.

The incriminating footage, shot in the town of Frauenfeld in Switzerland's northeast, is the result of a two-year investigation that on Friday led to the arrest of 18 members of the 'Ndrangheta , a criminal organisation that originated in Calabria, Italy.

The video offers a unique insight into the highly-secretive group and shows the gang's alleged boss Antonio Nesci revealing that 'Ndrangheta has been active in Frauenfeld for 40 years.

In the video, Nesci urges younger recruits to sell drugs but to keep his own involvement at arm's length.

"You can work in everything – extortion, cocaine, heroin," he says.

"There's everything. 10 kilos, 20 kilos a day, I will bring it to you personally but I don't want to know any more about it."

Nesci also advises that 'Ndranghetisti must obey the chain of command and refer all inquiries about murders and extortion to the members who are specifically tasked with those duties.

The alleged boss also reminds all present at the meeting to help maintain the organisation's reputation.

"For those who know us well, (we are) clean, clean, clean, it took us years to build this reputation," he says.

"We made our reputation. You young ones (should) do it so that the 'society’ is respected. I repeat again, the 'society’ of Frauenfeld is one of honour, wisdom and dignity."

The 18 members of the Frauenfeld cell were arrested under Operation Helvetica, which began in January, 2012.
