UK honeymooners among three killed in chopper crash in Greece

A probe is underway into a helicopter crash that killed a newlywed couple on honeymoon along with the pilot in Greece.
Greek news outlet eKatherimini said the helicopter had crashed just metres from a landing pad, killing all three on board.

British media including the BBC have named the newlyweds as UK couple Alexander Cromie and Marie Ebert.
They are believed to have chartered the private Bell 206 helicopter to fly to the popular holiday island from near Athens.
Crombie was vice president of private wealth solutions at asset management giant Blackstone.
In a statement to the Press Association, a Blackstone spokesperson said the company was “shocked” by the news.
“Alex was beloved by everyone who knew and worked with him at Blackstone, and our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones,” the spokesperson said.
Ebert was a senior specialist with business consultants Bain and Company and a graduate of the University of Sheffield.
Witnesses told local Greek media that the helicopter had been seen spiralling out of control before it crashed and burst into flame.
Local officials said there had been reports the helicopter had been making a strange sound as it came down.
eKatherimini said two specialists from Greece’s organised crime police unit had joined the investigation, which is being overseen by transport authorities.
