Leaked footage shows UFO 'disappear' over water

New leaked footage has revealed yet more of the Pentagon's UFO investigation, with an "unidentified aerial phenomena" hovering over water before disappearing.

The footage, captured by a US Navy ship, was leaked by UFO enthusiast and filmmaker Jeremy Corbell.

The Pentagon has said ongoing investigations are underway into UFOs, with a task force formed in 2020.

It will declassify its findings to the US Congress in June this year.

In 2019, the US Navy admitted to the existence of aerial phenomena it could not explain, saying there had been "a number of reports of unauthorised and/or unidentified aircraft entering various military-controlled ranges and designated air space in recent years."

The US Defence Department issued a statement on the subject in August last year.

"The Department of Defence and the military departments take any incursions by unauthorized aircraft into our training ranges or designated airspace very seriously and examine each report," they said.

The Pentagon's handling of the UFO issue is also under investigation.

The US Department of Defence's watchdog is set to examine how the Pentagon has handled reports of UFOs, which the department refers to as Unidentified Aerial Phenomena.

The investigation from the department's inspector general was announced in a letter earlier this month to the Pentagon leadership and signed by Randolph R. Stone, assistant inspector general for evaluations.

"The objective of this evaluation is to determine the extent to which the DoD has taken actions regarding Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP)," Mr Stone wrote in the letter.
