A Trudeau dynasty? Pint-size son of Canadian PM steals spotlight at G20

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's three-year-old son, Hadrien, is turning into the unexpected star of the Hamburg G20.

He made an appearance on Friday with his mother, Sophie Gregoire, as the partners of the world's top politicians went on a harbour boat trip.

Disembarking from the boat on the Elbe River, the toddler pulled a face at the proceedings, which were under the guidance of Merkel's husband, Joachim Sauer.

On the lunch menu at the Fischerei-Hafenrestaurant was fish sticks made from cod, a delicacy for most three-year-olds.

Hadrien had already captivated locals on his arrival at Hamburg airport earlier in the day, being carried smiling down the steps, inspecting the bouquet of white roses and red gerbera presented to his mother.

His appearance at this level left observers wondering whether a Canadian dynasty was in the making. The prime minister's father, Pierre, was twice prime minister.
