Truck driver, motorist play game of freeway chicken

A Mexican standoff between a truck and a car has ended exactly the way you would think with neither party willing to give an inch in the battle for a lane.

Dashcam footage, filmed in Texas on February 6 but posted to YouTube over the weekend, shows the truckie driving down a freeway when a car merges in front of him.

But when a black VW tries to do the same thing the truck driver either does not notice, or refuses to give way.

In excruciating slow motion, the car driver continues to merge as the truckie holds his ground.

The vehicles crash together and almost veer off into the median strip.

The VW is driven sideways in front of the vehicle before swinging back around the right way with the driver appearing unharmed as they both pull over.

The dashcam footage from the truck has ignited debate online over who was in the right.

The truckie clearly believed the VW driver was at fault, exclaiming, “What the hell. She don’t realise it’s on camera,” as he came to a stop.
