Truck driver lucky to be alive after almost plunging 100m off cliff

A Saudi Arabian man is lucky to be alive after almost driving his truck off a cliff in the country’s south-west on Wednesday.

Video of the very precarious position the truck was driven into was shared on Twitter.

The truck was teetering at the top of the cliff, with its cabin dangling over the edge.

Saudi news outlet SABQ reports that the driver lost control of the truck and veered off course, hitting roadside concrete barriers and ploughing through them.

Luckily, he managed to escape rather than plunge the 100m from the cliff-top to the ground.

Saudi Arabia's civil defence personnel have since successfully removed the truck using heavy machinery.
