Times Square: Former US Navy veteran jumps car into pedestrians

A former US Navy veteran has been filmed jumping his car into pedestrians on the footpath of Times Square.

Richard Rojas, a Bronx native, ploughed into holidaymakers and passerbys enjoying a sunny afternoon in the tourist hot spot, killing a teenager and injuring 23 others.

In vision of the terrifying moment, Rojas' out-of-control car  can be seen launching high into the air in front of a sea of people.

Rojas had been racing through crowds on the footpaths for three blocks.
