If you fancied a seat so close to today's Super Bowl action you could almost reach out and touch the players then you would have needed to pay more than $220,000.

That's around how much it costs for a ticket on the lower sidelines to watch the New England Patriots take on the Seattle Seahawks from Bay 110, Row 14, Seat 10, according to Business Insider.

The price equates to around $63,500 per hour of gridiron action, or a little over $1000 per minute.

And it's not all about the balls and brawn. The price would have given you great seats for a short medley of Katy Perry's biggest hits starring Lenny Kravitz and Missy Elliott. Australia’s Sportsbet is offering odds of AU$1.92 for both teams, according to the media outlet.

Those sitting in the higher priced seats would need to bet almost $116,000 on the winning team if they wanted to cover the cost of the ticket.
