Tangled sea turtle thanks rescuer

Amazing video has emerged of a sea turtle appearing to thank its rescuer after being freed from a fishing net.

Cameron Dietrich and Colin Sutton captured the footage after discovering the tangled turtle while spear fishing for tuna off Mexico's coast.

Mr Dietrich quickly went to work untangling rope from around the creature's flipper, before sending it on its way.

But then an incredible thing happened.

The turtle circled back, swimming face to face with Mr Dietrich and extending its flipper for the diver to hold.

This could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
