A Syrian soldier is lucky to be alive after ducking right before a bomb exploded in a building he was running towards.

Syrian government forces, backed by Russian airstrikes, have been gaining ground in eastern Aleppo since September.

In what appears to be drone footage, a soldier can be seen sprinting across a deserted area between several shelled apartment buildings.

As he jumps over a mound of rubble a bomb explodes, and he ducks next to the rubble.

Unscathed, he then sprints back in the direction he was originally running, away from the explosion site.

Warplanes have been targeting Aleppo's western suburbs and countryside, where rebels had been attempting to gain ground, since November 12.

The western Aleppo offensive has so far killed 92 people, including 29 children, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

It is unknown when the bombing occurred and whether the soldier suffered any injuries.

It is also unclear whether the lucky soldier was one of the Syrian government forces or an ISIS rebel.
