Strangers rush to rescue man trapped under car

Chinese pedestrians have rushed to lift a car off a motorbike rider and their passenger when the pair were knocked to the ground and trapped beneath the vehicle.

Video shows the car plough into the scooter in the middle of an intersection, sending the rider and their pillion passenger crashing onto the road.

But the driver's slow reaction sees the passenger pushed through the middle of the intersection before the car drives over the top of them.

When the car finally stops the person is trapped underneath.

Shocked and shaken, the bike rider tries desperately to free their unconscious friend from under the sedan.

A policeman runs in to assist, followed by several more strangers.

Dozens of people surround the car and heave it up into the air while others pull the trapped man from underneath the vehicle.

According to the post that was shared on LiveLeak earlier today, the passenger was taken to hospital and is reported to be recovering from their injuries.
