Argument over steaks sparks major brawl at US restaurant

A fight over steaks is believed to have sparked a major brawl at a US restaurant.

Video of the incident, taken at a Golden Corral outlet in Pennsylvania on the weekend, shows punches thrown and chairs flying.

Police have confirmed the brawl may have involved more than 40 people, and followed an argument among some customers.

A massive brawl broke out at a Golden Corral restaurant in the US. CNN

Former restaurant employee Dylan Becker said his friend had been involved, trying to break up the fight.

"She told me she got hit by a table and her ankle got bruised up pretty bad. And yeah, it's scary stuff," he said.

"There was two parties in line waiting for steaks, somebody had cut in front and then started being picky and finicky about the steaks and taking too long.

The fight was believed to be sparked by an argument over steaks. CNN

"And then somebody else spoke up and said something I guess the other party didn't like, and it looks like it turned into an all-out brawl."

JK Hospitality LLC, which owns that particular Golden Corral outlet, said in a statement that no serious injuries were reported.

"The safety of our guests and co-workers is our top priority," the statement said.

Police are now trying to establish who started the fight.

They could face assault charges.
