Stage collapses under 80-person choir in China

It took less than a second for harmonious singing to turn into shrieks of terror when the stage collapsed under the weight of an 80-person choir in China at the weekend.
Eight singers were injured when the floor underneath the performers at Bijie's City Theatre gave way on Saturday afternoon, CCTV reports.
A video of the accident shows the troupe at the peak of their performance when they suddenly sink into the stage in front of a shocked conductor.

The entire choir disappears from view as distraught onlookers wail.
The casualties were rushed to hospital, with two in a serious condition.
The cause of the stage collapse is being investigated.
