Spree killer's housemate speaks out

The former roommate of the 'Virgin Killer', Elliot Rodger, has described living with the spree murderer and revealed he feels he could have helped prevent the deaths. 
                
Chris Rugg, a student from the University of California, said that he had a "bad feeling" while living with Rodger and feels he should have taken the "opportunity to help".

"If I am not surprised that this is something that he would have done, then why did I not say anything?" he said during an interview with ABC News. "I had my opportunity living him when I knew things were up that I could have called in and it was my opportunity to help and I didn't."

Rugg also revealed another roommate told him he was concerned after he heard the “clicking” of a gun from Rodger’s room.

He moved out of the apartment last June because he felt "really uncomfortable living there”.

He told the television network he had seen all the warning signs that something wasn't right and urged the community to prevent this in the future.

"I think that for situations like this it's a community's responsibility to help these people before something like this happens

If we take from this and move forward hopefully we can identify these people before anything happens in the future."
