Speeding lift crashes into roof
Afraid of being stuck in a lift? Well, take that nightmare and multiply it by 100.
Not only is that exactly what happened to a man in Chile's capital, Santiago, but the lift then shot up to the top floor before crashing into the roof.
CCTV from inside the lift captured the fear-inducing ride and shows the moment the lift doors shut before reopening to reveal the scores of levels flying past as the machine zooms up.
The man can be seen frantically pushing buttons in a feeble effort to make the lift stop – before the footage shakes and then goes to black at the moment of impact.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene where the found the man shaken and suffering minor injuries.
According to Nacion.cl, the block of units was only built eight months ago.
