‘Stupid question’: South African lock not impressed by likening to Michael Cera

South African lock Eben Etzebeth was left less than impressed when New Zealand journalist James McOnie compared him first to actor Michael Cera and then to Borat.

McOnie is well known for his humorous style of questioning for the offbeat New Zealand sports show Crowd Goes Wild, though unfortunately, Etzebeth didn’t see the funny side this time.

"Eben, you've got quite a familiar face, some people say it looks a bit like maybe Michael Cera, the actor, or maybe Sacha Baron Cohen," McOnie said, eliciting laughs from fellow journalists as Etzebeth glared at him straight-faced.

“You know, Ali G?

“Do you have a nickname named after them or anything like that?”

“Ah no,” Etzebeth bluntly replied.

The big lock letting the Kiwi know what he thought of McOnie’s journalism as they were moved on to the next question: “Stupid question.”
