Son of infamous child abuser Jerry Sandusky arrested on child sex charges

The son of convicted sex abuser and former Penn State University assistant coach Jerry Sandusky has been arrested on child sex charges.

Jeffrey Sandusky, 41, is facing 14 charges, including sexual assault of a child older than 11, sexual assault of a child less than 16, and a variety of other sexual abuse and child pornography charges, CNN reports.

Court documents reveal the offences date back to March 1, 2013.

Mr Sandusky’s father was found guilty in 2012 of 45 charges related to the sexual abuse of children over 15 years.

He was sentenced to a minimum of 30 years in jail. His earliest possible release date is October 9, 2042 when he will be 98 years old.

Settlements totalling $59.7 million (A$78 million) were reached between Penn State and 26 of Sandusky’s victims.
