Soldiers walk through line of fire

The Brazilian military has been filmed firing live rounds at targets as soldiers walk in front of them, to show off their trigger discipline.

In the footage, a line of heavy-armed servicemen cock their weapons before opening fire.

Two officers, one of which appears to give the order to shoot, walk calmly through the barrage of bullets – turning on their heels to complete a second lap for good measure.

Video of the hair-raising stunt was posted to special police unit Apoio Policial's Facebook page.

"Do you have the guts to do this?" the footage is captioned.

The Rio de Janeiro-based unit was formed on July 4, 1969 to combat high-risk operations in the crime-addled capital.
