Puppets and bad hombres take centre stage at US Presidential Debate

The final US presidential debate in Las Vegas provided the social media audience with plenty of ammo to fire shots at Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.

Among the more popular hashtags on Twitter were #badhombres and #yourethepuppet.

But, it all began with a move that shocked very few people: Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton refusing to shake hands.

Many Americans were surprised by the tone of the debate, and the fact both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton clearly answered the moderators questions.

One eagle-eyed user pointed out that when it came to Donald Trump's claims the election was rigged, the writing was on the wall.

The Daily Show joked they had spotted a secret guest of Donald Trump.

But the real fireworks came when the candidates traded insults, both calling each other puppets.

Donald Trump sparked a wave of hilarious tweets, when he claimed the US had "some bad hombres".

But, for the most part, Donald Trump was more measured and balanced than in the previous debate.  His performance is sure to have many Republicans dancing in the street.
