Snow proves no match for Canadian train

Neither rain, hail nor snow could stand in the way of this Canadian locomotive filmed journeying through the country's New Brunswick region.

Train 406 was captured dashing through snow on Tuesday west of Salisbury, which has encountered blizzard conditions and minus-degree temperatures in recent weeks.

The locomotive, on its regular passenger run between Moncton and Saint John, New Brunswick, is first spotted in the distance in a haze of white powder.

As it approaches a crossing where the cameraman lay in wait, the bright red train completely vanishes behind the dense cloud, which sprays in all directions from the tracks below.

Standing only metres away, the camera steadies as if to brace for impact, only to be buried in ice and snow as the locomotive passes by.

"I'm not even sure how many locomotives this train had…" the train enthusiast behind the lens captioned the clip on YouTube.
