A skydiver has thrown both safety and his parachute to the wind and jumped out of a hot air balloon in nothing but a pair of shorts.

Antti Pendikainen, a self-confessed "extreme artist" from Finland, took to the air in the balloon with a parachute on his back, seemingly ready to make just another typical skydive.

Flanked by four other daredevils, he decides to up the ante.

"I woke up this morning and felt like I wasn't going to need my parachute, so f—k it," he says, throwing the parachute over the side.

"What the f—k, man?" another skydiver says.

"I'm stupid and tough enough to do it without a parachute, I'm not going to need it," he replies.

Shirtless, he jumps off, falling through clouds as his parachuted-companions follow.

As he approaches the earth, he becomes entwined with another skydiver and safely lands.

"It was cool," he says, when asked to say something after landing.

Footage of the stunt, filmed by another skydiver, was uploaded to YouTube overnight and already gained almost 100,000 views.
