Scottish boxer Mike Towell dies in hospital

Scottish boxer Mike Towell has died in hospital after succumbing to injuries sustained in a match on Thursday, his management confirmed.

The 25-year-old was stretchered from the ring in the fifth round of a clash against opponent, Dale Evans.

The referee stopped the fight shortly after Towell was knocked down for a second time.

He was on life support at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where his management said he died with family at his bedside.
