Video has emerged of 76 residents from two of Russia's largest cities in the Urals Federal District, Chelyabinsk and Yekaterinburg, coming to blows – only to shake hands amicably and walk off.

Over the course of the four-minute scuffle, flying kicks connect with faces and clenched fists wildly flail as the two groups battle it out.

One man is shown stomping on an opponent as he writhes in the snow.

Another, without missing a beat, lands a hit square in a man's eye. Then another slap to the face.

It is not clear what prompted the brawl, which has clocked up more than 140,000 views on YouTube since October 26.

It is reported the young men clashed on Facebook before deciding to settle their differences at a crossroads by more traditional means.

According to local Russian news site Ura.ru, no one suffered any seriously injuries and it was all just a bit of "Russian fun".

"Participants gathered on buses, greeted each other, and after a scuffle expressed gratitude for their participation. No one was seriously hurt."
