Russian man smashes traffic rival's windscreen with golf club

A Russian man has been left terrified after a road rager smashed up his windscreen with a golf club after a traffic dispute.

The driver and a female companion were driving near the Fontanka River in St Petersburg on Sunday when they were cut off by the driver of a red Volkswagen.

After beeping him, the pair continue driving, with the Volkswagen driver pulling in front of them stopping repeatedly and hindering their way.

After getting past him the Volkswagen driver cuts them off again, stopping suddenly before jumping out and approaching their car.

He then opens his boot to grab a golf club, striking their windscreen twice and smashing it as the female passenger screams in fright.

The Volkswagen driver then drives off, leaving the man and woman stunned.

It is unknown if the man has been charged.
