Death misses pedestrian by inches

If he was walking half-a-second slower he would probably be dead.

A bus travelling down a street in Russia recorded what could have been the last moments of a pedestrian's life when a crane crashed down onto the footpath behind him.

Sauntering down the street in red shirt and shorts, the unwitting pedestrian took one step past death as the massive metal frame rained down on the wake of his path, smashing into the ground with an amazing force.

The crane fell onto a metal advertising pillar, crushing it like it was made of cardboard — it's easy to think what would have happened to the man's body.

No doubt when he left his home that morning he did not expect he was stepping out into the first day of the rest of his life.
