Russian soldier shoots eight dead at military base
A Russian conscript serving in the country's far east has shot dead eight other soldiers and badly injured two more, the Interfax news agency reports.
The conscript had suffered a nervous breakdown and has been detained, the news agency said, citing the Defence Ministry.

The two injured troops were being treated in a military hospital for wounds that were not life-threatening.
